This tower was proposed in 1985 by French developer and part-time Paradise Valley resident Georges R. Schriqui.
It would have been the centerpiece of more than five million square feet of residential, hotel, and retail space on an eight-block area at the southeastern corner of Central Avenue and the Papago Freeway.
The boundaries of the project site would have been Central Avenue on the west, 3rd Street on the east, Moreland Street on the north, and Roosevelt Street on the south.
The project stalled after the Federal Aviation Administration notified the City of Phoenix that the tower would be a hazard to air navigation.
