Facts

  • In November 2002, Ballymore Properties Ltd. submitted a revised application to develop the 1 Millharbour site. The Pan Peninsula:revised application] seeks to replace the office tower with two residential towers containing 786 apartments because of the favourable housing market in the area. The original scheme will remain approved even if the revised scheme is also approved, and Ballymore will be able to implement either scheme.
  • The building comprised two glazed wings, separated by a central core clad in stone.
  • The plan provided for a roof-level public viewing gallery.
  • The initial application for 1 Millharbour proposed a 37-storey tower some 196.2m tall. This coincided with the launch of a masterplan for the surrounding area, which prescribed a maximum height of 25-storeys. Ballymore subsequently withdrew their original application and reduced the height of 1 Millharbour by 12-storeys.
