Bligh Apartments was the 5th tower design approved for the large Bligh Street site. This proposal was an amendment to the first residential scheme which was 219m tall. A few floors were added and it reached the city's height limit of 235m. Its height above Bligh street was 229m and a 6m difference down to O'Connell street.The tower's first 70m consisted of large concrete pilons.The project was shelved again in 2000 and now has a 180m height envelope.Rice & Daubney architects have been involved with its design.
