  • The first 12-story building in Chicago. The Home Insurance Building was built the same year but did not reach full height until an addition in 1890.
  • The design emphasized the vertical lines of the piers, with elaborate ornamentation on the façade.
  • One of two skyscrapers built in the Loop with the same name; the other Mallers Building was built later and is still standing.
  • The building was demolished for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The bank building's northeast corner occupies the Maller site.
