Facts

  • Originally proposed as 19-story senior housing facility, City Bella was reconfigured in Spring 2002 as a non age-restricted facility with 15 floors.
  • Site excavation began in March 2003.
  • The Gramercy Club surpassed the Gramercy Park Cooperative at Lake Shore Drive as Richfield's tallest building late in 2003.
  • This is the tallest cooperative apartment building in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.
  • The site was fenced off in October 2002, and demolition of the existing buildings on site was complete by January 2003.
  • The building is L-shaped, with wings parallel to 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue. There are landscaped grounds to the south and west of the main tower, leading to the neighboring Gramercy Park Cooperative at Lake Shore Drive.
