Facts

  • Building Four was initially proposed in 2002 as part of the World Trade Centre London project, for a site formerly occupied by Phase One of the South Quay Plaza project, an office building damaged and subsequently demolished as a result of an IRA bomb in 1996.
  • In 2003, due to the poor performance of the London office market, the developers decided to revert to an extant planning permission for a residential tower on the site. Construction of Discovery Dock East, the replacement scheme, began in 2003 and was completed in 2005.
