Facts

  • This is the tallest building completed in Minnesota during 2002.
  • Height courtesy Thomas Schneider, consulting project manager.
  • This is part of more than 2 million square feet built by American Express around the year 2000. The Ameriprise Financial Center, two blocks to the north, opened just 2 years earlier.
  • A Glass Box next to the main entrance houses a Winter Garden by renowned artist Maya Lin, designer of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. Called "the character of a hill, under glass," Lin uses birch trees, granite benches, an uneven wooden floor, a pool of water and wall of water that will freeze in subzero Fahrenheit temperatures to bring the outside environment inside.
