A stepped slab roof is a bilateral series of setbacks or terraces, giving a building a stepped appearance from two opposite sides but not from the perpendicular sides. There must be at least two setbacks on each side for a roof to be classified as a stepped slab roof. These setbacks may occur near the top of the building or all the way up, along the building's sides.
