Emporis is a leading provider of building information on a global basis. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Frankfurt/Germany, the company runs the world´s largest website about buildings. Emporis was formerly known as Skyscrapers.com. more

Frankfurt – The jury of the Emporis Skyscraper Award has announced Aqua, an 81-story residential and hotel tower in Chicago, as the winner of the 2009 Skyscraper of the Year. The award, now celebrating its tenth year, is given annually to a building at least 100 meters tall and completed within the award year. more

Tokyo's Cocoon Tower selected as 2008 Skyscraper of the Year

Frankfurt – Frankfurt, 19 January 2009: With an impressive score of 77 voting points, the world's most renowned architectural prize for high-rise buildings, the Emporis Skyscraper Award, goes to Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower in Tokyo. This university building in Tokyo's Shinjuku district has been selected out of 384 eligible buildings worldwide over 100 meters tall which were completed in 2008. more
