South Michigan Avenue

The name "South Michigan Avenue" evokes an image of old Chicago... the less glamorous but more elegant side of Chicago's most important street. In reality South Michigan is much longer than the Grant Park streetwall it is best known for, extending all the way down the South Side of the city. Along Grant Park it forms a historic district, with several old hotels and office buildings. South of the Loop the street is experiencing a burst of residential development.
