North Michigan Avenue

Chicago's grandest avenue and one the great streets of the world, North Michigan Avenue includes the Magnificent Mile and a five-block section in the Loop. Where the street crosses the Chicago River, it opens onto a spectacular urban space surrounded by several of Chicago's most famous buildings. The office market on this street includes several advertising and media firms, and the street also includes several luxury hotels and residential buildings. North Michigan begins on the western edge of Grant Park, and shifts course twice very slightly - at the bridge and by the Water Tower - before merging with North Lake Shore Drive at its northern end.
