Israel was founded on May 1948. David Ben Gurion was its first prime minister and Haim Weizmann was its first president. Israel's parliament, The Knesset, has 120 seats and is elected every four years.

Israel has today more than 190 high-rise buildings, and in the near future it will have more then 35-40 new skyscrapers with 25-80 floors (mostly in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan).

Tel Aviv has been elected the 4th most important high-tech city in the world, and Israel as one of the most productive (after the US and Canada) in patents and high-tech firms in the world.
