Facts
- World's first circular office building.
- The tip of the spire at night blinks out the words "Hollywood" in morse code.
- Two music superstars have their "Walk of Fame" stars in front of the building: John Lennon and Garth Brooks.
- While the Morse Code message of "Hollywood" blinked from the top since it was lighted in 1956, the message was changed once, in 1992 to "Capitol 50", to commemorate Capitol Records' 50th anniversary.
- The building's southern base displays a large mural called "Hollywood Jazz", celebrating such artists as Billie Holiday and Nat King Cole.
- It is a myth that the building was designed to resemble a stack of records topped with a stylus.
- The building houses a recording studio renowned for its acoustics. Artists who have used it include Judy Garland, Nat "King" Cole, and the Beach Boys.
- Studio A in this building was inaugurated on February 22, 1956 by Frank Sinatra, recording the instrumental album "Tone Poems of Color".
