Dubai: New research by Skyscrapers.com has uncovered a new world-record holder: the world's tallest all-residential building is now located in Dubai.

The new title-holder is the 21st Century Tower, which is already topped out and set for completion in October or November of this year. The building was previously listed on this website as a mixed-use tower with office and residential floors, but a consultation with the architect and a visit to the construction site have confirmed both the exact height (269 m) and the fact that all usable floors above the lobby will be residential.

The World's Tallest All-Residential Building is one of the major categories of tall building records. Until recently this was held by the Trump World Tower in New York City. This year Skyscrapers.com announced that Tower Palace Three, Tower G in Seoul had been topped out, claiming the new record, but the building in Dubai surpasses this by 5 meters.
