Berlin: The hotel group Hilton stepped back from their contract of lease for the Zoofenster complex in Berlin, Germany. In result the construction work at the excavation was now stopped. It is not the first time that the planned tower is in the news. Several investors and architects reveiled plans for the Zoofenster over the last years which were not realized.

The 37-story skyscraper was designed by the architect Christoph Mäckler. Hilton planned to occupy large parts of the tower using a five star hotel with 565 rooms. The opening was scheduled for Summer 2004. Investor Dr. Ebertz & Partner now looks out for other potential hotel leaseholders.
