Christopher Columbus Homes, Columbus Towers
- Located just north of the Lackawanna Railroad Station, the Columbus homes were typical examples of high rises built in the 1950's to house the poor. The complex was badly planned and the buildings improperly maintained, and by the 1970's they were a stark example of the failures of public housing.
- Beginning in Summer 2001, the Columbus Homes site was being rebuilt with low-rise apartments in a neo-Colonial style.
