Ichikawa

Ichikawa borders Tokyo to the east, over the Edogawa and Kyu-Edogawa Rivers. It is serviced by the Sobu local and rapid JR Lines in the centre, the Hokusu Line in the north, the JR Keiyo Line and Tozai Line in the south, and the JR Musashino Line in the east.<P> The city tree is the black pine, the city insect is the 'bell ring' insect, the city flower is the rose, and the city bird is the bush warbler.<P> Ichikawa is sister city to Gardena City, California, Leshan City, China, and Medan City, North Sumatra.<P>As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 462,249 and a density of 8,044.71 persons per km².
