This large suburban municipality just to the west of Lansing and Lansing Township is home to the metro's second largest shopping center. Founded in 1825, the development of this township began in it's northern half on the Grand River which would soon to become Delta Mills. As Saginaw Highway was expanded westward out of Lansing the township quickly began to set itself up along the road in the central part of the township.
Today, Delta Township is and industrial and commercial center anchoring the western part of the Lansing-East Lansing Metro.
