Delhi Township is a resdential suburb directly south and adjacent to Lansing. Founded in 1842 by an act of the legislature creating townships in the State of Michigan, Delhi Township's first European-American settlers actually arrived in 1837. The historic center of the township lies in the unincorporate village of Holt, which grew up along Cedar Street, a major north-south thoroughfare that travels through the Capital City region.
