In a complex, $32 million deal in May 2007, Daniels Development Company purchased the property of the First United Methodist Church, to preserve the church and build a 43-story office building.
The developer lists the structural height as 660 feet, however the elevation drawings indicate height varies from 645-6" at the Fifth Avenue main entrance to 680'-6" along Columbia Street where exposed lower levels start at 137'-0" climbing to 817'-6" above sea level.
Upon completion, it will be Seattle's tallest building constructed since 1990 and the first ever in the city designed to LEED Gold standards.
Each of the four triangles in the faceted frame facade is 165 feet.
Plans call for a building that is smallest at its base with each floor a different size. At one point it comes within 4 feet of the sanctuary's domed roof. Steel braces separating its triangular planes help hold the building up.
