  • The name 'El Huacal' comes from the notion that the building is full of public employees who do little work, a situation called 'botella' (bottle). Hence the building became known as a place to store bottles ('huacal').
  • This was the tallest building in the Dominican Republic until Torre del Sol was built in 1993.
