Facts

  • The tower meets 7th Street midway between Mission and Market. A perpendicular low-rise section meets Mission Street at the opposite end of the slab, creating a plaza at Mission and 7th Streets.
  • The eleventh floor of the sky garden features a custom-built light installation by James Turrell.
  • The architects were chosen, in part, because of their environmentally-friendly energy-efficient designs. This project features windows that will open, allowing air to circulate through the 65-foot wide tower.
  • A three-story sky garden occupies a notch on the side of the building from the 11th to 13th floors.
  • The north side is of glass, with narrow vertical glass fins projecting from the main facade.
  • The south side is protected by an undulating perforated stainless steel sunshade. This steel curtain continues above the roof slab in an assymmetric crown which shields the tower's mechanical projections from view.
