  • The Loraine Hotel was built for Milwaukee hotel and insurance magnate Walter Schroeder. For many years Madison's leading hotel, it housed the State Departments of Justice and Commerce until recently.
  • The Loraine is to be redeveloped into housing during 2003-2004 with Strang Inc. as the architect of record and Stevens Construction Corporation the contractor.
