Considered one of the most prestigious properties in Minneapolis, it contains the landmark 56-story tower and the 20-story Park Building (at 650 3rd Avenue South) connected by a 75-foot-high wintergarden.
The building has an L-shaped footprint, occupying the entire length of the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on 6th Street South and between 6th and 7th Streets on 3rd Avenue South.
The 45 foot tall semi-circular steel crown serves as a screen for cooling towers and antennae.
It was built as the headquarters of First Bank, now US Bancorp. The building changed its name to 225 South Sixth in early 2002, after US Bancorp moved its headquarters to the new US Bancorp Center on , and then to Capella Tower in early 2009.
