The building renovation will cost US$ 139 million and is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Upon the 3-year renovation, starting early in 2010, the building will achieve platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design through its use of a new shading system, solar array installation, lighting systems and reuse of water.
The building was named in honor of former U.S. Representatives from Oregon, Edith Green and Wendell Wyatt.
