Facts

  • Recreations of the original bronze doors removed in 1966 fabricated by Ellison Bronze were recast and installed in 2003.
  • The exterior materials graduate from dark granite at the base to red and pink brick in the midsection and cream color brick at the top. Copper panels decorate the spandrels.
  • Topped by a weather light in the shape of a natural gas flame.
  • The 21-foot tall neon flame atop the tower was added in 1956.
  • The deco bronze sunburst detailing above the main entrance was removed in 1966. It was recreated by sculptor Tom Queoff and installed in 2003.
