  • The tower will be surpassed by Torre de la Escollera as Colombia's tallest building.
  • The public observatory on the 52nd floor is the highest in the city.
  • The tower has 15 elevators which travel at 5 meters per second.
  • 3000 tons of steel and 6000 cubic meters of concrete were used in the tower's construction.
  • Top of the tower is nearly 9160 feet (2792 m) above sea level.
  • At the time of completion, this was the tallest building in Latin America, until the construction of Parque Central Torre Este in Caracas, Venezuela.
  • The tower was illuminated externally for the first time on August 6, 1998 while celebrating the birthday of Bogotá.
  • During December the lights on the top have the colors of the Colombian flag.
