Built on the site of San Jose's first "skyscraper", the seven-story Garden City Bank & Trust Building (1909).
The top floor is occupied by the Silicon Valley Capital Club, a private business and dining club.
Each of the two "Knight-Ridder" signs atop the building are made of brushed-aluminum, are 13 feet tall, 95 feet wide, and weigh 54,000 lbs.
The "Knight-Ridder" signs had to be cantilevered over the side of the building to keep them under the height restriction imposed on the building by the FAA, as the building is located along the flight path to San Jose International Airport.
