Facts

  • Overlooking palm trees and English Bay this tower has a commanding presence because of its width in design and its unobstructed views.
  • Morton Avenue, just one block long, was named after John Morton (1834-1912) who bought the entire West End (540 acres) in 1862, for $550.75.
  • It was this building that initiated the 1956 zoning bylaw, as the Technical Planning Board could then refer any development proposal to the Architectural Advisory Panel appointed by council in 1956.
