Facts

  • Outstanding feature: 5 shuttle double-deck elevators, load 2 x 1770kg, speed 5m/sec.
  • This building was originally built as the headquaters for the Post Office Savings Bank (POSB).
  • The POSB was subsequently bought over by the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) while the building was only half-completed.
  • The amalgamated bank already occupies two towers a few streets away (DBS Towers 1 and 2), and hence the building became the headquaters of the newly formed CapitaLand Limited, the result of a merger between Pidemco Land and DBS Land, the property arm of the bank.
  • Since its completion, it graces the Singapore skyline as the fourth tallest, and the tallest building in the Shenton Way-Tanjong Pagar financial district.
