Facts

• The previous (and successive) world's tallest structure was/is the KVLY-TV Tower in Blanchard, North Dakota.
• The tower was supported by 15 guy wires.
• The total weight of the tower was 550 tons.
• This was the tallest man-made structure until the construction of the Burj Khalifa. It reigned as the world's tallest from 1974 until it fell during renovation work on 10 August 1991.
