- This tower was originally the Dial Tower, and the top of it is meant to resemble a Dial bar of soap.
- This tower was originally supposed to have a twin, turned 90 degrees and situated next to the current tower, but due to the savings & loan scandal and the resulting downturn in Phoenix's economy during the early 1990s, this second phase was shelved.
