Facts

  • The Missouri Pacific Building was originally intended to reach 35 floors, but construction was stopped at the 23rd floor because of the Great Depression.
  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
  • Home to offices of the Missouri Pacific and then Union Pacific Railroads for decades, this building became a prime redevelopment candidate after the jobs at this site were moved to the new Union Pacific Center in Omaha in 2004.
  • There are plans to renovate this building into condominums, retail and commercial space. An additional tower, Park Pacific II, will be built next door and they will be joined on the 9th floor.
