  • The Rotunda was originally going to have a revolving restaurant on the top floor, but the idea was scrapped after the shell was built.
  • The building was damaged by an IRA bomb in 1974.
  • The building will be reclad and redeveloped from commercial offices to residential usage with full-height glazing and a double-height reception area.
  • The building was given Grade II Listing by English Heritage in August 2000.
  • The top of the tower is ringed by a 4m high illuminated sign and turns the Bull Ring into Birmingham's answer to Times Square in New York City.
  • The illuminated sign contains 50,400 light bulbs.
