Facts
- The Mabley & Carew Department Store was housed in this building until their sale to Dayton-based Elder-Beerman. The store was eventually closed and torn down in the late 1980s to make way for a new tallest building in Cincinnati, Fountain Square West.
- Neither Fountain Square West proposal was built, and today this is the site of a Lazarus Department Store. Fifth Third Bank has purchased the air rights above the store and may exercise the option to build Fountain Place in the future.
- At the time of demolition, the building sported a modern facade with few windows.
