- The First National Bank of Atlanta was Atlanta's tallest building for 10 years (1966-1976) until surpassed by Westin Peachtree Plaza.
- In 1991 First Atlanta merged with Wachovia Bank of Georgia.
- Soon after the merger, Wachovia moved their offices to 191 Peachtree Tower. 2 Peachtree now serves as an office tower for the state of Georgia.
- This was the tallest building in the Southeast at the time of its construction.
