- The ground floor has a through-block glass-walled atrium with a light-toned granite floor and a gridded ceiling.
- The building rises above the Racquet and Tennis Club, a Florentine Renaissance-style palazzo. The lower portion is visually restrained in deference to the club.
- The Park Avenue facade has a prism-like plan, whereas the back portion is modelled as a rectangle.
- Park Avenue Plaza was built next to the Lever House, a similarly groundbreaking tower.
