- A sad fact: The firm Tesch & Stabenow, who supplied the poison gas Zyklon B to the concentration camps Auschwitz, Majdanek, Sachsenhausen, Ravensbrueck, Stutthof and Neuengamme, had their offices in the building Messberghof. Since 1997, a memorial plate reminds visitors of the building's darkest chapter.
