  • The building is supported on 236 cast-in-place concrete piles extending 72 feet below the boiler room floor.
  • This building utilized metal facade panels with machine-applied vermiculite concrete on the back side, necessary as a weight-saving measure due a lack of bedrock under the foundation.
  • The design architect was W.A. Sarmiento of the Bank Building & Equipment Corporation of America.
  • The building reopened in late 2004 after a multi-million dollar renovation which preserved this most important International-Style building in Salt Lake City.
