- The Jefferson County Courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
- The Jefferson County Courthouse consists of a central tower flanked by a pair of 3- and 4-story wings. The exterior is clad with buff-colored brick and cream-colored Cordova limestone.
- The interior features imported marble finishes, elaborate metalwork, stone and ceramic detail, and a bas-relief map in the main corridor illustrating local industries and activities.
- This is one of the tallest courthouses in Texas, and one of few in a skyscraper style.
