Upon completion, Electra became the tallest residential tower in San Diego.
The base of the building makes use of the historic San Diego Gas & Electric Company facade.
SDG&E Power Station B, originally built in 1911, made steam heat for many downtown buildings and powered the streetcars. Its 10 tall smokestacks dominated the view for decades.
