  • As of August 2004, the Consolidated Building remains vacant, awaiting redevelopment. Possible uses include housing, a hotel, or high-tech office space.
  • One of the rejected proposals to redevelop the Market Square Arena site (two blocks to the east) announced in February 2003 would have included creating 85 affordable housing units and parking in the Consolidated Building.
  • The Consolidated Building was originally built as an annex to the adjacent National Bank of Indianapolis Building, then known as the Lemcke Building.
  • It originally contained a large Vaudeville theatre.
