- The foundation stone was laid by Constance, Countess of Shaftesbury on 6th September, 1899.
- The cathedral can accommodate a congregation of around 1,000 worshippers.
- In 2007, the Spire of Hope was added to the Cathedral. The stainless steel spire rises from 20m above the floor of the Cathedral, and was dedicated on 11th September 2007 - the anniversary of the World Trade Center attack in New York City.
