Structure in General
- The building is faced with terra cotta and sculpted reliefs illustrating the early history of the city.
- The façade's vertical emphasis is achieved with a trio of three-story arches at the lower levels, continuous piers, and smaller arched forms at the top.
- The second-floor banking hall still retains the original colonnade, coffered ceiling, marble, terrazzo, and metalwork.
- From 1967-1987, a landmark "Weatherball" was perched on a 125-foot tower on the roof. The top of the structure was 310 feet from street level.
