Facts
- The dynamic asymmetrical form of the tower is a response to the zoning demands of the Times Square sub-district and the 42nd Street Redevelopment Authority.
- The angular planes composing the building's form correspond to the break in the street gird caused by the diagonal intersection of Broadway. This irregularity allows for a design that responds directly to pedestrian traffic patterns and maximises light and floor plates.
- The office tower features a dramatic angular shape with a sloping fin on the Seventh Avenue side, with space for commercial signage and retail space at the base.
- The number of floors includes 3 mechanical floors.
- On August 13, 2004, a freight elevetor suddenly shot up and crashed into the top level ceining, killing one person, Carl DeClercq, the security guard and elevator operator.
