Winning Design
One Wall Centre was awarded the first prize for its design and functionality. It is located in Vancouver and is currently the second-tallest completed building in Canada. The building is 149,80 meters tall and was designed by architects Busby + Associates Architects. To counter wind-induced movement, the building contains two tuned liquid column dampers, , each of which is four storeys in height and takes the form of a 230-ton, 50,000-gallon water tank. The use of this type of damper was the first of its kind in the world.
