Hines is active in the fields of property managment, developing, and contracting. Founded in Houston in 1957 by Gerald D. Hines.
From its beginning, Hines set new standards for the highest levels of quality and professionalism in commercial development, while creating projects of lasting value for hundreds of investor partners and clients. Working with such notable architects as Philip Johnson, Cesar Pelli, I.M. Pei, and Frank Gehry, Hines has, over the years, redefined the modern workplace, enhancing business life and reshaping skylines in great cities around the world.
Hines has developed more than 650 projects including stunning skyscrapers, premier corporate headquarters, mixed-use centers, industrial parks, and master-planned resort and residential communities. Currently, Hines has over 70 million square feet under management and controls assets valued in excess of $13 billion. The firm has offices throughout the U.S. and in 11 other countries including: the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, and China.
