About the Company

One of the most influential architects of the 20th Century. Mies began his career in Germany, and moved to Chicago to head the architecture program at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is famous for his minimalist glass and steel buildings with extreme attention to detail and proportion.
In 1959 Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was awarded the Royal Gold Medal for the promotion of Architecture which was initiated in 1848 by Britain's Queen Victoria and is awarded annually by the Sovereign to an architect (or practice) for work of high quality, or to a person or group whose work has promoted the direct or indirect advancement of architecture.
