Akko Situated on the northern coasts of Israel, midway Haifa and Nahariya, the Old City of Akko is rich in history and was awarded a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.

Dated as 5000 year old, one of the oldest cities in Israel, Akko or Acre is first mentioned in papyrus writings as a fortified Canaanite city with a small natural harbour situated on historic trade routes .
The Old City, once the region's capital and largest city, is now surrounded by its newer neighbourhoods and industrial zones.

The Bahai worship center and the only fully preserved Crusaiders city in the world serve as the main tourist attractions of this picturesque town.

The city is a mixture of Jewish, Christian and Muslim populations living in harmony side by side.
