Kiryat Motzkin Founded in 1934 by middle-class workers from Haifa, and named after Lev Motzkin (1867-1933), President of the Zionist Workers Committee, Kiryat Motzkin is situated in the 'Krayot region', adjacened to Kiryat Bialik and Kiryat Yam to the west, some 6 km north to Haifa.
City status was granted in 1976 and today it boasts large parks and a zoo.

Nowdays the city has little land reserves left, and so it approves many high-density residential areas to cope with the high demand, as this is the only 'Krayot region' city with a steady positive growth rate over the recent years.
